An all puppet production of Volume 3 of The Memoirs
Every year, Sisyphusian, our local playwrights strive to eff the ineffable—that is, to eff Em. But the spectacle of a splendid failure is spectacular nonetheless. This year, don’t miss out as the Ossian Players futilely attempt a full-length adaptation of Et in Orcadia Ego, Volume 10 of Magnus Valison’s “The Memoirs of Emily Bean.”

Viking Relic Scavenger Hunt

Bean Memorial Park (Summer 2005)
The salivic dissolution of a candy axe upon the tongue. The frustration of a fruitless search for the last Lewis chessman. The agony sweeter than the sugar. So much fun for “archaeologists” of all ages.
Discover Vanaheim
View of the Treasury of Vanaheim
Behold, the simulacrum! The New Crúiskeen Municipal Museum’s “Discover Vanaheim” exhibit reduces an entire culture to one thirty-minute presentation. Our docents will regale you with tales of Vanatru mythology, explain the bioluminescent properties of ormolu lichen, demonstrate the harvesting of vulcanopneumatic energy from an artificial “reyklaug,” and even provide you with a complementary cup of ormolu tea. But can you stomach it?

Candlelit Vigil
Crúiskeen Lawn Cemetery
Reflect, a hundred lights, to illumine the stones and tombs of Crúiskeen Lawn Cemetery. A candle too quickly snuffed; burn with fury returned.

The historic Hrothgar's
When Grendel's stomach growled, he grabbed a bite of grub
At Hrothgar's famous hall, hailed for hearty fare
And ballads belted out, about the brave and bold.
So come in from the cold, and croon a karaoke.
Cosplay
A would-be Refurserkur attempts to blend into the background.
Nature is mimetic itself: is mimesis. The orchid becomes the wasp and the aphid a leaf. To let a second skin live through you, inhabited. Which is only to say, we are what we wear—until we are worn.
